This dining chair from 1960 has been completely handmade by one of Brazil's most important young artists, Sergio Rodrigues. It was originally made from parts of a century-old trunk and subsequently completely refurbished. The upholstery has been done with great care. These beautiful, unique pieces exemplify the notion that 'waste is not,' as only discarded materials are used to create striking curves and designs. Serving as a reminder that we can all do our part to reduce waste and in turn preserve precious natural resources, Rodriguez is busy perfecting his craft by working with reclaimed materials from demolished old buildings and even items salvaged from garbage cans.
